Speed Dating with the Dead: Kindle Book of the Day 4/18

Bestselling author Scott Nicholson strikes me as someone who really loves what he does. While his book is making you squirm, you can just imagine him egging you on to find out what's waiting on the next page. Speed Dating with the Dead will give you both the scares and the sense of enjoyment, as paranormal Spirit Seekers descend upon a haunted hotel in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll be surprised not just by the ghosts but by the humor, and by the end you'll be feeling just like the rest of Nicholson's legions of fans--more than a little possessed. This one is a steal at 99 cents!

Description: For fans of Stephen King, Joe Hill, and James Herbert. A paranormal conference at the most haunted hotel in the Blue Ridge Mountains goes haywire when ghost hunters accidentally stir up demons.

When Digger Wilson brings his paranormal team Spirit Seekers International to the White Horse Inn, he is skeptical that his dead wife will keep her half of the bargain. He doesn’t believe in ghosts, and just before she died, she promised to meet him there.

But when one of the conference guests channels a mysterious presence and an Ouija board spells out a pet phrase known only to Digger and his wife, his convictions are challenged.

And when guests start to disappear, Digger and his daughter Kendra must face the circle of demons that view the hotel as their personal playground. Because soon the inn will be closing for good, angels can’t be trusted, and demons don’t like to play alone . . .

Reviews: "Speed Dating with the Dead was a REALLY fun read. It features a great cast of characters starting with Digger, the lead paranormal investigator who doesn't actually believe in the paranormal, but pulls together a diverse team of investigators and psychics to present a conference for Ghost-Hunter-wannabes in an allegedly haunted hotel in North Carolina. Lots of fun, but also some serious scares. Nicholson managed to keep a perfect balance of humor and horror throughout. At 346 pages, (paperback edition) it is an average size novel, but it was such a pleasure to read, that I zipped through it like it was a novella. Highly recommended for horror fans for sure, but also for anyone who just wants a fun read."
