Beautiful cover aside, Spencer Baum's new and highly rated teen vampire novel has a lot going for it. Unlike a lot of other stories where you're subjected to page after page of whining from shallow heroines, this novel does a fantastic job of situating the drama in the midst of an important cultural system. Family, fictional politics, and the promise of becoming a vampire are all weighing heavily on the mind of new girl Nicky Bloom as she navigates the masquerade ball. And you won't believe what happens! Check it out now!

Reviews: "There seems to be a million fiction books about vampires out there, but this one is unique. It's more of a fast paced political thriller with well defined, believable and fun high school heroines who are out to try to sabotage the vampires hold on the Washington power players. The book is a fast read, it is well written and the story will hook you. I highly recommend giving this book a try, see if you can put it down after the first chapter. I bet you can't!"
