Free and Bargain Apps for the Kindle Fire

I've got to say it's been great getting everyone's entries for our 1st Annual Kindle App Awards. Whether they be games or utilities, there are a lot of apps out there people love using on their Kindle Fire. It's encouraged me to go back and start playing around with some of the older ones I'd forgotten about. But there are still lots of people waiting to open their Fires for the first time, and so we'll see what everyone chooses by the end of the year!

If you're in the shopping mood but don't want to spend a lot, take a look at Amazon's Top Holiday Deals for bargains!

Now let's check out a few great apps. This first one is Skitch, which I'd actually heard about before but never mentioned it here because I thought it wouldn't work on the Fire. Although you may not be able to use it to take pictures, it can still do a lot of photo manipulation/drawing stuff.

Name: Skitch
Rating: 4.3 stars over 13 reviews
Price: 0.00
Description: Spice up your pictures with the Skitch app. Skitch is a fun and fast way to create great-looking annotated images, snapshots, and sketches of ideas. Take a snapshot of something, draw an arrow, add a caption, and post the image on Twitter or Facebook. Snap a picture of people you meet, annotate it with their names, and save it to Evernote. Sketch out a map, diagram, or anything you want.

Please note that this app requires an Evernote if you want to save your pictures to Evernote. The Evernote app is available for free in the Amazon Appstore for Android.
