Free and Bargain Apps for 12/30

In addition to all of the great Kindle Fire apps we'll be featuring today, I've got a little bit of exciting news to share. Thanks to John Harrington on Facebook, I've finally found a USB cable that'll easily connect the Fire to my computer (been using WiFi Explorer). Now all that's missing is a way to plug a thumb drive into the Fire. Anyway, this is the Oriongadgets Sync & Charge USB Cable and it's currently on sale for 73% off at $2.46!
Now let's check out some great apps, including this first one which will help you turn your Fire into a beautiful musical instrument. I'll tell you, it never fails to impress people when you play a musical instrument app on your device, and this one looks particularly easy to pick up!

Name: Air Harp
Rating: 4.5 stars over 12 reviews
Price: 1.99 0.99
Description: You may have played air guitar before, but have you had the Air Harp experience? Now anyone, no matter their level of musical ability, can play wonderful music with the Air Harp app on the Kindle Fire. Air Harp re-imagines the classic lap harp for the digital era. The app turns your Fire into an attractive wooden instrument with 15 strings, capable of producing two octaves of gorgeous, high-quality harp tones in G major. Just use your fingers to "strum" and "pluck" the strings--it's that easy.

Next up is an impressive RPG game that won't cost you a cent. Graphics looks great and reviews on gameplay are good. Some reviews mention trouble with the download though. If you have issues, I'd recommend going into Your Apps and Devices in your account, deleting the app if the download gets stuck, and trying again. Could very well be worth the effort.

  1. I remember saying a couple weeks ago that the Kindle reader cord works well also. just saying...

  2. Sorry Rosie! Ok, credit goes to you. ;)

  3. I lucked out. My cell phone cord fits my Kindle as well. I can use my cell's wall plug, computer adapter, and car charger all with my Fire. It's an LG Optimus. :o) Had I known you were looking, I would have said something right away. Delighted you (and Rosie) found ones that work, though!

  4. Yeah I am able to use my cell phone charger as well :) (Droid Bionic and Droid x2 husbands so we have several floating around :) )

  5. That's good to know. Maybe I should make a list of cell phone chargers that also work on the Fire. Between here and the ones people mentioned on Facebook there is at least a handful of them.

  6. I was reading this thread and sure enough my cell phone charger fits all the Kindles in my house! With 3 kids all getting Kindles for Christmas this is so much better than the USB chargers that came with it! No more waiting in line for charging lol.

  7. Awesome, what a great bonus, Sica! Can you tell us which cell phone charger so we can add it to our list?
